Who we are

What we collect, and why

Enquiries. When you email us or submit an enquiry, we keep your name, contact details and message so we can reply and carry out any work you ask for. Legal basis: legitimate interest, then contract.

Chat with Violet. Our AI assistant is clearly labelled as an AI. When you chat, the conversation text and any contact details you choose to give are stored with our enquiry records so John can read the conversation and reply. To generate Violet's replies, the conversation is processed by Anthropic's Claude API acting as our processor; Anthropic does not use this data to train its models. Don't paste sensitive information into the chat - it's for enquiries. Legal basis: legitimate interest, then contract.

Service protection. To prevent abuse of the chat and enquiry forms we briefly process a hashed form of your IP address for rate limiting. It is not used to identify or profile you and is routinely deleted.

Analytics. We use cookieless, privacy-respecting analytics to understand how the site is used (pages viewed, approximate region, device type). No cookies are set for this, no advertising identifiers are used, and we cannot identify you from it.

Payments. When you pay us by Direct Debit, your payment is handled by GoCardless Ltd, who act as a separate controller for your payment and bank details under their own privacy notice. We receive confirmation of your payment and mandate status (and the email you used), not your full bank details. Legal basis: contract.

What we don't do

We don't sell or share your data for marketing, we don't run advertising trackers, and we don't send marketing emails you haven't asked for.

Where data lives

Email is handled by our email provider; enquiry records are stored securely with our hosting provider (Cloudflare); payments are processed by GoCardless. We keep enquiry data only as long as needed to handle your enquiry or deliver work, plus any period required for legal and accounting purposes.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR you can ask for a copy of your data, ask us to correct or delete it, or object to our processing. Email hello@inkon.co.uk - we'll respond promptly. You can also complain to the ICO (ico.org.uk).
